For this service, we have Hunter BL505 Brake Lathe.
Brake Lathe is a lathe specialized for the task of resurfacing brake drums and discs in automotive or truck garages.
A disc brake is a wheel brake which slows rotation of the wheel by the friction caused by pushing
brake pads against a brake disc with a set of calipers. The brake disc(or rotor in American English) is
usually made of cast iron, but may in some cases be made of composites such as reinforced carbon–
carbon or ceramic matrix composites.
We are expertise in brake‐disc skimming and we recommend this particular service to our customers
as a solution for lateral run‐out, vibration issues and brake noises.
The machining process is performed in a brake lathe, which removes a very thin layer off the disc
surface to clean off minor damage and restore uniform thickness. Machining the disc as necessary will
maximize the mileage out of the current discs on the vehicle.
The Hunter BL505 brake lathe design provides an array of features to improve performance, increase
speed of operation and expand the ability to handle a wide range of vehicle applications. Hunter has
additional brake lathes available. Hunter also has brake lathe accessories available to enhance service
Features of Hunter BL505 brake lathe:
» |
Infinitely adjustable feed rate provides a dial-in fast rate for rapid material removal, very slow for final surface finish or any rate in between to perform one-cut passes. |
» |
Three easy-to-access spindle speeds allow the correct speed for all size work pieces. No tools are required to change speeds. |
» |
Drum control lockout and warning indicator light eliminates potential crashing of the machine. |
» |
Optional Dust Containment System acts as an environmental enclosure that captures chips and iron dust particles that can become airborne. The system not only protects the immediate work area and surrounding bay space from debris, but also provides the added benefits of greater safety and reduced shop noise. |
